In the time of Moses, a decree was sent out by the Pharaoh to kill all the male Hebrew babies (Ex. 1:22). This type of genocide had never been recorded before and was not recorded again until the time of Jesus when Herod sent out a decree to kill all the male children (Luke 2:14ff). Both times, genocide was unleashed against a generation at the time when the Lord was raising up a deliverer.
Once again, babies are being killed all over the world. No longer is it one localized genocide, but it is a widespread attack against the unborn across gender, race, and nation. No other time in history has there been such a widespread destruction of a generation. In our day, there is no nation that remains unaffected by abortion.
Once again, a cry for a deliverer is being raised by the people of God. Once again, the Lord is raising up a deliverer. At the time when the Son of Man returns, His people will be united in a cry for justice (Luke 18:7).
So far, He is allowing for a window of mercy in our nation before the time of judgment, and the length of that window depends on the posture of His bride. Will she continue on like business as usual? Or, will she fall on her face in repentance for immorality and the shedding of innocent blood? Will she cry out for mercy and call on the name of the Lord so He will heal her land?
We cry out for justice and the ending of abortion. This is good, but at this point, if abortion is ended in our land, it will only be for the window of mercy to be extended before inevitable judgment comes.
Again, the Lord is raising up a deliverer. Jesus is returning to avenge His bride and bring Justice to the earth. Many counterfeit deliverers will arise in that day, but you will know the True Deliverer by this sign: “For as lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matt. 24:27).
Yet, even as we look forward to that day, we must continue to ask for a window of mercy so that more and more people could come unto repentance. Like Israel in after the days of Manasseh, we can pray for the Lord to raise up a Josiah and deliver us from judgment just a little while longer.
We must continue to pray, continue to fast—especially during these last 48 hours of the election proceedings. Judgment is coming to our nation, but we can be delivered a little while longer if we will not relent.
Unlike King Joash, we must continue to “bang the arrows” through intercession with intensity (read II Kings 13:13-20). In this story, Elisha told Joash to strike the arrows to the ground to see if Israel would be delivered from the Syrian invasion. Joash only struck the arrows three times, though, and Elisha scolded him. He said, “If you had only struck five or six times, who would have destroyed Syria…”
He probably quit striking because what he was doing seemed foolish, and he did not understand it. It is the same with intercession. It seems foolish, yet so does a man dying on a cross for the sins of all mankind. However, “God chose the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and He chose the weak things to put to shame the things which are mighty (I Cor. 1:27).
The Lord spoke something profound to me last night. He said, “Amanda, I am not asking you to stay in America for you. I am asking you to stay here for America. I am giving her one last chance and I am asking you to join with me in intercession for her.”
It is with this urgency in my spirit that I am calling a one day fast for all those within hearing of this email. Please join me in a no-food fast tomorrow, election day, Tuesday, November 4th asking God to have mercy on our nation. Let us posture our hearts in humility together calling on the name of the Lord and asking Him to heal our land (II Chron. 7:14).
Blessings,
Amanda
